Favorite referencing style
APA referencing because it is the one that I have studied and used the most!
Why I became an editor
When I transitioned from teaching Italian to English, I found my passion for my native language.
Over the years, my passion continued to develop and I was led to proofreading. For me, proofreading is a wonderful combination of being enjoyable and rewarding. I value helping people express themselves accurately whilst preserving their unique voice.
Background and experience
I have been a language teacher for over 10 years and have been doing casual proofreading jobs for the last three years.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love helping people tell their story or share their knowledge whilst providing them with the confidence that their writing is accurate and professional.
Favorite book:
“Three Women” by Lisa Taddeo.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, you can find me in the kitchen (either cooking OR eating) or sitting behind a spritz on the seaside.
Editing tips:
I first like to read the whole document to understand the topic, tone and style. From there, I approach grammar and punctuation before ultimately ensuring flow and preservation of the author's voice.
