Favorite referencing style
IEEE referencing is my favorite. Its in-text citations are simple and short and do not rob the document or paragraph of its flow.
Why I became an editor
I have always enjoyed reading—from detective novels, to bird books, to the specifications for computer processors. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, I have also carefully studied the Bible. These diverse yet regular studies have helped me to understand the importance of consistency and clarity while writing. A simple misspelled word or grammatically incorrect sentence can detract from the overall message.
Background and experience
Through several years of self-teaching, I have gained substantial experience in photography and IT. I have also spent time learning 3D modeling, and have been learning about birds for as long as I can remember. I have built up an extensive knowledge of plants since I began professional landscaping in 2019. Since I work mostly for myself, I have also gained experience with web design.
Why I love proofreading and editing
As much as I enjoy reading a well-written piece, it almost makes me sad when something interrupts that flow and detracts from the document. Thus, I love helping other people to polish and refine their hard work.
Favorite book:
The Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan are my favorite books.
Hobbies:
I enjoy teaching others about the Bible, spending time with friends, watching birds, going for walks, and playing frisbee. I also enjoy reading, watching Netflix, and playing video games.
Editing tips:
You can’t go over a document too many times. I also keep in mind that I’m not the author, so I aim to make as few edits as possible, while ensuring consistency and clarity throughout the document.
