Favorite referencing style
I like MLA referencing because it is what I learned when I was in college, but APA has become more familiar to me recently as well.
Why I became an editor
The writing process can be difficult for everyone, including me. I enjoy helping people by making the process just a little bit easier.
Background and experience
Most of my family immigrated to the US from a non-English speaking country, so in a way, I have been in the position of translating, editing, proofreading, interpreting, and rewriting to help out for my whole life. I wrote papers in university as an English major and I wrote for a living when working as an attorney.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love that I can learn while working. It feels a lot less like work that way.
Favorite book:
I just love Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. It's nostalgia for me because I read it as a child and I recently fell in love with it again.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I enjoy cooking, eating, conversing with family and friends, reading, taking walks, and doing crossword puzzles.
Editing tips:
Sometimes it takes a little time to get to know someone's tone or style or manner of communicating. I like to take time to marinate on the words before jumping in to proofread.
