Favorite referencing style
APA is my favorite referencing style because it's the one I'm most familiar with.
Why I became an editor
I've always enjoyed reading, writing, and learning about the English language. I also have a keen eye for detail that's enabled me to spot numerous writing mistakes in textbooks and published novels.
My passion for the English language (and for travel) has led me to teach English abroad, and I've thoroughly enjoyed helping others improve their language skills. Proofreading is the ideal combination of my interests and talents, combining reading, writing, attention to detail, and helping others.
Background and experience
I'm currently beta reading for a podcast that's not yet published.
Becoming a proofreader, Proofreading Academy, 2021.
TEFL/TESOL, International TEFL Academy, 2016.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I enjoy helping people express their message clearly and concisely; I want their work to be polished. I'm especially interested in psychology, sociology, creative writing, and proofreading literature, and I have extensive experience with APA, MLA, and Chicago.
Favorite book:
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
Hobbies:
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, binge-watching Netflix shows, brainstorming writing ideas, drawing, and simply relaxing.
Editing tips:
I like to read the whole document first to get a feel for it. This helps me mentally prepare for the task at hand.
