Favorite referencing style
My favorite referencing style is APA because it’s the one I'm the most familiar with, and it’s simple and straightforward.
Why I became an editor
As an editor, I want to develop a professional relationship with each of my clients and understand their unique writing styles. Knowing more about my client and their individual goals helps me give more effective feedback. I work daily to ensure I’m helping each client feel confident in their writing. Freelancing allows me to control how much content I work on each week so I can give my undivided time and effort to each and every document.
Background and experience
I worked as a developmental editor and proofreader for a self-published author, an owner of a small business selling educational resources in multiple storefronts online, a preschool teacher, a piano and voice teacher, and the president over women's and children's organizations in my church congregation.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love helping writers polish their work and empowering them with the knowledge that they are publishing the best version of their wonderful words.
Favorite book:
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is my favorite book.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I love watching old movies, reading, doing puzzles, cooking, and spending time with my children.
Editing tips:
My biggest tip for proofreading is to read the document multiple times with breaks in between each pass. This ensures that I bring fresh eyes each time so I can catch every error.
