APA is my favorite because I am the most familiar with it.
Why I became an editor
I studied pharmacy at university, which combined my interest in biology, chemistry, and medical science. I worked as a specialist oncology pharmacist in hospital for many years. I have also been in church leadership for more than 20 years and hold a certificate in biblical studies, and I run a Christian blog. Proofreading combines my love of reading and writing with the attention to detail I learned as a pharmacist. I enjoy helping people achieve excellence in their writing.
Background and experience
I worked as a hospital pharmacist from 1991 to 2018, specializing in oncology during the later years. This required great attention to detail, as I often checked complicated chemotherapy regimens. I have experience in a broad range of medical topics, including clinical trials. I enjoy proofreading documents in the areas of biology, chemistry, medical science, pharmacy, oncology, and science in general. I am also very comfortable proofreading work related to the Christian faith and the Bible.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I enjoy making a piece of writing clear and correct. It gives me satisfaction when the finished text flows seamlessly without any awkward or confusing elements. I am confident about proofreading in the pharmaceutical and medical areas and healthcare subjects in general. I would also enjoy proofreading work about the Christian faith, biblical studies, and theology.
Favorite book:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis is my favorite book.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I'm most likely to be found walking in the local countryside or watching movies.
Editing tips:
I have a personal checklist that I follow to make sure I don't forget any vital parts of the process.
