Favorite referencing style
My favorite referencing style is APA because it is the most widely used in academic writing.
Why I became an editor
I studied feminist studies at university, which exposed me to many different types of writing. I have always loved spelling and grammar, and my meticulous eye for detail led me to pursue proofreading. I have spotted tiny mistakes in just about every book I've read, and I thrive off of fixing the little details to perfect a piece of writing. I have experience reading and proofreading academic documents, but I also love fiction and am open to broadening my horizons!
Background and experience
I have experience with freelance proofreading online, following directions from a client, and cleaning up a website and self-made course. I have also worked multiple customer service and retail jobs, including a shoe store and a pretzel shop! My time spent reading and writing throughout university has given me lots of experience, and I am comfortable with different types of writing.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love focusing on the small details of writing to make it read smoothly. I find satisfaction in noticing things that most people would not and fixing them accordingly. I want to help your writing reach its full potential and take care of the finishing touches. I especially love grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Favorite book:
My favorite book is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I love watching movies, going to drag shows, and reading fiction.
Editing tips:
I find it useful to take multiple passes over a document: first, I make sure that any big issues are taken care of, and then I delve deeper into the writing to catch any remaining errors.
