Favorite referencing style

APA is my favorite because I am very familiar with it.

Why I became an editor

I became an editor because of my keen interest in the English language, especially in the written word. As a language teacher, I already had the skills to identify errors and improve writing. It seemed a natural progression to become an editor and continue to do what I thoroughly enjoyed.

Background and experience

I have been an English teacher for several years. I have taught university students in many disciplines, including medicine, law, dentistry, architecture, and engineering. I am currently an honorary reviewer for Horizon and have gained valuable experience in reviewing papers before publication. I have also done some proofreading work for a PhD student.

Why I love proofreading and editing

I love the fact that I am helping someone create a piece of writing that they can be proud of. In addition, I am exposed to a diverse range of materials that are interesting and intellectually stimulating. Proofreading allows flexibility of time and workplace. I have a lot of experience in science and medicine, and these would be my preferred areas of work. I am familiar with APA referencing.

Our expert proofreaders have you covered.

Favorite book:

“Gone with the Wind” by Margaret Mitchell is my favorite, and I love mystery novels by Agatha Christie.

Hobbies:

I love cooking. I am a vegetarian and whip up delicious meals for my family. I love playing scrabble and wordle. I exercise regularly, and if time and weather permit, I spend time in my garden.

Editing tips:

First, I familiarize myself with the author and identify the purpose of the document. Then I skim through the document at least once before reading it all, highlighting headings and subheadings.
