Why I became an editor

I have very fond memories of all the hours spent in university writing research papers. Back then, I probably should have used a proofreader to catch all those pesky mistakes that you never notice when reading your own writing.
I love the idea of providing proofreading services for others and helping them be able to present their ideas as clear, concise and error-free as possible.

Background and experience

I have four years of teaching experience. I have taught English as a second/foreign language to children in South Korea and China, and I have taught writing and maths skills to teenagers in England. In addition, I have home educated my children for ten years. So it seems like not a day has gone by for over a decade that I haven't spoken to someone about a grammar or writing rule.

Why I love proofreading and editing

I love constantly learning about new areas. I am lucky to have a job where I can provide a service to people while reading interesting documents.
I also love the sense of accomplishment when I find an error or make a helpful comment to a client.

Want to save time on your content editing?

Our expert proofreaders have you covered.

Favorite book:

I'd have to say that it is Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery because I have enjoyed reading it with my daughters so much.

Hobbies:

When not proofreading or driving my children to their activities, I escape to my allotment. I grow as much fruit and veg as I can on my little plot when the weeds aren't taking up all the space!

Editing tips:

I like to print out the document for the second read. As simple as it sounds, running your finger under each word makes it easier to spot missing words we might just hear in our heads while reading.
