Favorite referencing style

I am egalitarian, though my PhD was Harvard with footnotes.

Why I became an editor

I am a full-time, professional private tutor with years of experience and an immensely successful record with my tutees. A former teaching fellow at King's College London, I have degrees from the universities of London, Jerusalem and Cambridge. Author of 'Israel and the Cold War' (I.B.Tauris, 2013), I have reviewed for the Royal Institute of International Affairs and have written for several academic journals and newspapers. I love writing, reading and improving people's work.

Background and experience

A former teaching fellow at King's College London and doctor of philosophy, I have taught MA courses on the Arab-Israeli conflict, US and British foreign policy, war and peace in the Middle East and inter-faith relations. I lived, worked and studied in Israel for years and am a proud (spiritual) Kibbutznik.

Why I love proofreading and editing

I love to help in the art of communication. In particular, I enjoy improving clarity of thought and the directive and flow of any piece of work. We all need to realise that anything we write is, ultimately, a reflection of ourselves. My areas of expertise are politics and international relations, and I have a particular interest in Semitic languages.

Favorite book:

‘Israel and the Cold War: Diplomacy, Strategy and the Policy of the Periphery at the United Nations’ by Howard A. Patten.

Hobbies:

I am an animal person, so I enjoy anything to do with our furry friends. I am also a foodie!

Editing tips:

I treat proofreading like an exam: I skim the piece a couple of times, think about it, look around a bit, then come back to it.
