Favorite referencing style

My favorite referencing style is Chicago because I love footnotes. It is convenient to glance down and find the reference or a clarifying comment from the author.

Why I became an editor

I studied biblical and religious history in university and graduate school. While spending many days reading academic papers, I learned the most compelling ideas are often the most clearly written. This left me wondering how many world-changing ideas have been overlooked because they were not communicated clearly. I became a proofreader to play my part in helping us all learn from one another and ensure great ideas become known!

Background and experience

I attained a professional writing minor for my university degree. In 2017, I did an internship at a research center, and one of my responsibilities was proofreading their catalog of articles.

Why I love proofreading and editing

I love helping others communicate their thoughts, ideas, and research as clearly as possible. I especially enjoy proofreading and editing religious studies, history, theology, and politics. I have lots of experience using Chicago/Turabian, having used it throughout both my university and graduate school programs.

Our expert proofreaders have you covered.

Favorite book:

“How to Read a Book: The Classic Guide to Intelligent Reading” by Mortimer J. Adler and Charles Van Doren.

Hobbies:

When I'm not proofreading, I am spending time with friends and family, having deep conversations, exercising, doing research, or eating good food!

Editing tips:

I find it useful to have a strong grasp of the intended audience. A document is only as useful as its ability to communicate ideas to the reader. It’s important to keep them in mind when proofreading.
