Favorite referencing style
MLA is my favorite referencing style because it's very straightforward.
Why I became an editor
I've been passionate about reading and writing ever since I was a child. My love for YA fiction led me to write two novels of my own, and I had so much fun editing them that I decided to see if I could do it for a living. I took a 50-hour proofreading course and here I am! There is nothing I enjoy more than perfecting people's writing from the comfort of my home.
Background and experience
I took several fiction writing courses at UCLA Extension, where I also worked as an administrative assistant in their creative writing department. From January 2021 to February 2022, I worked for a medical book publisher in Poland, where I assisted in the organization of medical conferences and in translating medical journals from Polish to English.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I love perfecting writing, whether it’s my own or someone else's. I realize this makes me sound nerdy, but I genuinely enjoy correcting grammatical errors! I especially enjoy proofreading and editing documents on music, philosophy, politics, and history. I'm experienced with MLA, APA, and Chicago referencing.
Favorite book:
The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer is my favorite book.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, I enjoy doing yoga, writing songs, and watching scary movies with friends.
Editing tips:
I find it useful to correct the most obvious grammatical and punctuation errors first. Once those are out of the way, I focus on the more stylistic issues to produce the best writing possible.
