Favorite referencing style
My favorite referencing style is APA 7th Edition because I'm most familiar with it.
Why I became an editor
My formal education consisted of graduate studies in modern European history and the humanities. I've managed marketing for wineries and tourist destinations, which required extensive copywriting. I've worked in the performing arts onstage, backstage, and in the office. My entire career has included extensive writing for planning and publicity.
Background and experience
I've worked in management for both big and small companies. For decades, I've worked remotely and run my own business. I've worked as a farmer (yes, on a tractor), a marketer, an actor, a singer, a publicist, a manager, and, through it all, a writer.
Why I love proofreading and editing
My motto is to "think big, then focus." If we have a specific destination in mind, I can use writing to find the best way to get there.
Favorite book:
Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis.
Hobbies:
My hobbies are writing, reading, walking my dogs, and cooking supper.
Editing tips:
Understand the objective as soon as possible, either by following the instructions or by reading the document first. With that understanding, I can help the author achieve their objective in a clear and concise manner.
