Why I became an editor
I just love reading; it's one of my childhood passions that has stuck with me through the years. Proofreading gives me a great opportunity to improve my understanding of the English language, which makes me a better teacher. It's also an enjoyable way to help others!
Background and experience
I spent my university years trying to figure out how to transfer my artistic passion into a sustainable career. I studied art and international studies, which led me to Vietnam, where I currently work as a public school English teacher. In my spare time, I write grant proposals for a nonprofit organization and create art—mostly charcoal drawings and etching prints.
Why I love proofreading and editing
I enjoy proofreading and editing because I'm a bit of a perfectionist and can easily spot errors in writing. I love reading in general, and I get to learn something new with every document I take on. It also feels great to help others polish up their writing!
Favorite book:
A Fortune Teller Told Me by Tiziano Terzani.
Hobbies:
When I'm not proofreading, you can find me drawing, cooking, or enjoying some time outside.
Editing tips:
After proofreading the document, I take a break for a few hours and then come back to it. I want to make sure I didn't miss anything and that I'm happy with my changes before submitting the clean copy.
